Ivanka Trump Saffri Over The Knee Boots [also sold here, here, here, here]  //  Dress [comes in 4 colors for $88]  //  Clutch  //  Necklace  //  Earrings  //  Bracelet

As much as I love OTK [over the knee] boots, it’s difficult finding a pair that looks right [on me]. I’m 5’3″ which most people seem surprised by as I’m constantly told I give off a taller appearance. In addition, I have extremely small calves and ankles, making it even more challenging to wear tall boots that fit well. I tried on the popular Stuart Weitzman Highland Boots and fell in love with them… but not their price tag. Casey and I are planning on buying our first home in the very near future, and paying $800 for one pair of boots when we now reside in hot and sunny Florida just didn’t seem like a very smart move, so I sadly walked away.

A couple of months ago I saw that Nordstrom had the Ivanka Trump Saffri and Sarena boots on major sale and immediately wanted them. I chose the Saffri because of the gorgeous dark red color. They also come in grey and black like the Sarenas. The only real noticeable difference between the two is the Sarenas have an additional zipper, located on the top back, behind the knee. Both boots are faux suede, have an almond shaped toe and a chunky heel. The Sarena’s heel is 3 1/2″ tall, while the Saffris have a 4″ heel. They have ranged in price from $110 to $180 depending on the store and sales being offered.

If I’m being honest, the Stuart Weitzmans fit the best, feel the best and look the best. But if you’re like me and trying to avoid spending that kind of money there are plenty of other comparable options. I do really like the Saffris, but learned that I must wear a pair of thick socks or pants underneath them to help prevent them from falling down or looking too large. [In these photos I’m not wearing any socks which is why they appear so roomy]. I prefer the way they look and fit over jeans. There’s another outfit post coming soon to the blog and you’ll see how much better they are when worn over pants!

Each pair of OTK boots are going to look differently on everyone – depending on height, leg length, calf thickness, ankle thickness, etc.. Steve Madden and Sam Edelman are popular options. This less than $35 pair comes in 5 colors and has good reviews. My friend swears by this under $100 pair which I’ve debated getting in the grey color and also come in a flat version. If you prefer a flat boot or lower heel, check out these two from Amazon: Chinese Laundry, Sam Edelman. Another great flat pair for thin legs are these which currently are 50% off!
