Whether it’s a stocking stuffer, Secret Santa, or a little special something to let a dear friend know you care about them, you don’t need to spend a ton of money on a great gift. While I’m big on experience presents such as tickets to a show, a spa service, or a class package to a local barre studio, they can often be on the more pricey side. AND let’s be real…it’s fun opening up an actual present. Isn’t it?!! I’m a sucker for pretty packaging too!
Cozy Sleepwear: Things like ultra soft slippers and cute pj sets aren’t necessarily items that people buy for themselves. As much as I adore them, there are so many more things I’d rather spend my money on, BUT when gifted these items, I am SO EXCITED! I remember the first year at my present job, one of my coworkers got everyone in the office a set of knee high socks. I think there were 4 pair total and they came in bright fun colors and patterns. To this day, I wear them throughout the fall and winter, underneath boots or just around the house.
Cold Weather Accessories: Bring on the scarves, gloves, and pom pom hats. The more the merrier! I have to remind myself that I live in Florida, otherwise I’d be stocking up right about now! There have been so many NYC outings where I never took my coat off, so I always felt better having cute and coordinated accessories that just so happen to keep me warm. I got these gloves for my cousin a few years ago, and I just think they are SO fun!!!
Beauty: Makeup, skincare, hair products, and perfume are also great default gifts. If you know what your friend likes to use, feel free to restock her with her favorites OR surprise her with that must have palette she’s been dying to try! Bath and body sets make great gifts. If your friend travels a lot, consider buying an adorable travel set for her to use.
Subscription Services: Treating your friend to a few months [or even a year] to a cool subscription service is an unexpected gift that she [or he] will love! I’ve mentioned Ditto before, but you can use my code: SUNFLOWERSSTILETTOS to start the subscription with a FREE MONTH, so your bestie can rock a new pair of designer sunnies. It’s up to you how many months you’d like to gift, but it’s only $24 a month, starting your second month. If I were to sign someone up for Ditto, I’d make a cute little card with sunnies on it and put the details inside the card. I’d then wrap it inside a gift box, so my friend had something pretty to open. The other option would be to order their first pair for them, and then box it with the details inside. I’ve personally been using Ditto for over a year now and it’s so fun being able to try on and wear different sunglasses! In addition, they are so easy to work with. Insurance is included and covered for basic wear and scratches. It’s free shipping both ways to receive and return your sunnies. You can swap out as often as you’d like and you can cancel any time! Birchbox is another subscription service I’d highly recommend! They have different package options, starting at $10 a month for 3 months.
Home Decor: Think of a pretty picture frame with a great picture of the two of you in it, fun desk accessories [like this adorable sticky note set], a candle, or a cute mug. If your friend loves to host or recently moved into a new place, you can get things like personalized glassware, fancy coasters, or a vase with flowers in it.
See, there are SO MANY thoughtful and fabulous gifts for under $50! I’d love to hear if you guys have any personal favorites or recommendations. Tell me in the comments below!
