The Best Designer Bag Dupes!

July 12, 2016

My first job was working as a waitress at Vincent’s, a local Italian restaurant/pizza joint when I was 16 years old. While I was fortunate enough to have my parents support me growing up [financially and emotionally], earning my own money was something that made me feel good. The process of wanting something, saving for it, and then purchasing it was and still is extremely rewarding. I haven’t always made the smartest decisions and have certainly treated myself to one too many things. But hey… you live and you learn, right?

Now, I have to face the facts that I’m 31 years old, married, have a baby, and have to deal with real life adult shit stuff: life insurance, retirement funds, pre-school tuition…ya know, the real sexy things in life. Plus, Casey and I are house hunting, so while I may really want a new designer bag, I definitely don’t need it. And that’s exactly what I tell myself every time I leave Bloomingdales empty handed [insert frowning emoji here].

I’m not into buying fake purses pretending to be the real deal, but I am all for buying something from a no name brand or less expensive designer that looks similar [and sometimes even identical] to the original, high end design. It’s one of the reasons why I love Steve Madden shoes so much! They make the best copies of designer shoes for a much more affordable price.

Before I share with you my favorite designer bag dupes, I want to make sure you were aware of the amazing sales going on. Today is Amazon Prime Day, featuring more than 100,000 deals worldwide for new and existing Prime members, with more deals being added every 5 minutes!! All deals are live starting July 12th at 12:00am PST through 11:59pm PST. Shopbop is launching a surprise sale starting today, offering 25% off all designer sale merchandise using the code DESIGNER25 at checkout. This sale ends Wednesday, July 13th. And as you know, we are TWO DAYS AWAY from early access to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, for those of us who are a Rewards Member [credit or debit card holder]. This sale goes live to the public on the 22nd and will feature items for fall at a great discount! Happy shopping!!!

Love this post!! I am all about making the investment every couple of years on a handbag that is timeless, but there are so many I still covet that are more trendy and I can’t justify spending so much money. That’s where the “dupes” come in for me too!!

Ahh, being an adult. Isn’t it so much fun?! Haha! I love the bags you shared! Especially the little pink quilted one. Super cute! I will have to check out the Shopbop sale. Didn’t know this was happening, so thanks for sharing! Also, good luck on the house hunting! Such a process, but definitely worth every penny in the end!
